What To Do With Left Overs

No not the left overs in the fridge!  Those scraps on your craft desk from all those projects.  All that creating with the Peaceful Poppies Suite left me with a desk full of scraps.  The perfect time to try out the Scrappy Strip Technique (by Bruno Bertucci).  You can watch his video here.

So super easy but effective and uses up all those scraps!

Here is what I have used:
Stamps: Peaceful Moments
Card/Paper: Basic Black, Peaceful Poppies DSP
Ink: Versamark
Tools: White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Trimmer
Embellishments: Peaceful Poppies Elements (for the sentiment tag)

What's that I hear you say? She white embossed her sentiment.  Something different lol.

Its my current groove!

Hope you are having a crafty day, its freezing here in Melbourne so hiding in the craft room with the heater on!

More Poppies!

So are you sick of them yet?  LOL.  I might be a bit biased to the Poppy as that is my granddaughters name!  Made another one with this beautiful suite.

I think this is my go to style.  I love white space and a cluster in the bottom right corner.  I do it a lot lol.

Here is what I have used:

Stamps: Beauty Abounds (sentiment), Painted Poppies
Card/Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink: Poppy Parade, Versamark
Tools: White Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Painted Labels Dies
Embellishments: Peaceful Poppies Elements, Peaceful Poppies Sequins, Whisper White 1/4" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon

Of course I've done my sentiment in white embossing powder on the black again!  The die has a centre inside of it when you cut it out but I wanted it open so just punched it out with my 2" circle punch.

Thanks for popping by, hope you are getting your crafty on!

More Poppies!

So I have my fave demonstrators that are amazing and I am constantly floored by their gorgeous designs.  Today I cased a card by the wonderful Nina Waldschmidt.  She is on the Stampin' Up! Artisan team and you can check out her blog here!

I'm still on the poppies!  Now I've got them out I don't think I can stop.

Here is what I have used:
Stamps: Timeless Tulips, Painted Poppies
Card/Paper: Whisper White C/S, Basic Black C/S, Old Olive C/S, Flirty Flamingo C/S
Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Rich Razzleberry, Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive, Poppy Parade, Versamark
Tools: Poppy Moments Dies, Heat Gun, White Embossing Powder
Embellishments: Peaceful Poppies Sequins.

I have just randomly stamped behind the die cut image with all my colours.  Again I've white embossed the sentiment on black to make it pop.

Hope you have had a great day!

It's Tea Time

So many fabulous sets are retiring at the shortly so I've been trying to give them some love!  I can't believe this set is going, its such a perfect one for some Mother's Day cards.  I still had the Peaceful Poppies DSP out on my desk and decided it would make a pretty teapot!

Here is what I have used:
Stamps: Tea Together, Timeless Tulips
Card/Paper: Poppy Parade C/S, Whisper White C/S, Basic Black C/S, Peaceful Poppies DSP
Ink: Memento Black, Versamark
Tools: Tea Time Framelits, Lace 3D Embossing Folder, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool
Embellishments: Copper Twine, Peaceful Poppies Sequins.

I love a good teapot and in fact have my very own collection started.  I'm definitely a tea drinker, no coffee for me these days!

Don't forget if you love this set, get in before it goes for good.

Hope you have had a crafty day,

Just Add Ink #502

So while my mojo is sticking around I'm making the most of it and playing along with some of my favourite challenges.  This week at Just Add Ink its a sketch challenge.

And here is my creation.

I've used the poppies again but wanted to show how they don't just have to be the traditional colours.  I love this colour combo and think the black gives it a great bold statement.  Again this Designer Series Paper is retiring so if you want to add it to your collection check out the Last Chance List or contact me today.

Here is what I have used:
Stamps: Timeless Tulips
Card/Paper: Whisper White C/S, Basic Black C/S, Pool Party C/S, Vellum, Peaceful Poppies DSP
Ink: Memento Black
Tools:  Die Cutting Machine, Poppy Moments Dies
Stitched Shapes Dies
Embellishments: Peaceful Poppies Elements

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you are having a safe, crafty day.

Anzac Day 2020

Today in Australia and New Zealand we honour our past and active Defence Force Members.  We thank them for their sacrifices and service.  With this year being so different we were unable to attend the traditional dawn service however it was encouraged for everyone to commemorate together on their own driveways at dawn.  It was exceptionally moving hearing the last post echo through the neighbourhood and then when the national anthem was played the kookaburras joined in.

As we are home learning at the moment here in Melbourne, Archer and I made some lanterns for today's service during our "Art Class".  I think its really important these traditions are embraced by the next generation.

We used the fabulous Painted Poppies set and Make A difference and he was really proud of them, as was I.

Now I must confess I haven't been feeling at all crafty during this isolation period.  My mojo tends to disappear when I feel stressed and anxious which is definitely what has been happening of late.  However, with the new catalogue sneak peek for demos this week and having a crafty chat with the girls on Zoom on Friday night I got the urge today!  Being Anzac day I wanted to use the Painted Poppies set again which definitely hasn't had enough love from me.  Luckily this is carrying over to the next catalogue.  However the Designer Series Paper won't be and I wanted to showcase this with these cards and if you want to purchase some don't delay it won't last long!

I love this paper so much I made a whole set!

These were quick and simple to make as I think the DSP is a gorgeous feature.

Here is what I used:
Stamps: Timeless Tulips (sentiment)
Card/Paper: Flirty Flamingo C/S, Blackberry Bliss C/S, Poppy Parade C/S, Basic Black C/S, Peaceful Poppies DSP
Ink: Versamark
Tools: Heat Tool, White Embossing Powder

I just love white embossing on black cardstock, it really makes that sentiment pop!

I hope you are all safe and well.  Hopefully my mojo is back for a little bit.  Remember to check out the Last Chance List for this DSP and heaps of other goodies.
