A New Addition and A Challenge

Well I had a little blogging hiatus. Was a bit busy producing a new son! Archer Thomas Byers arrived into the world on Tuesday 11th May at 4:02am. He was born by emergency c-section as things got a bit hairy there for a while. He weighed 3.6kg/7lb 9oz and 51cm long. He is just beautiful if I do say so myself and is just like a mini Oscar I think. Here is a picture of him with his dad just minutes after birth.

Archer is such a good baby that I have even had time to do some cardmaking! Decided to join in with this weeks sketch challenge over on Taylored Expressions (TESC113) to make this card for my nephews birthday which was Monday but I'm sure they will understand if its a little late (hope).

Here is what I used:

Stamps: Lots of Bots

Paper: Pacific Point, Whisper White, Unknown DP

Ink: Pacific Point, Staz-On Black

Accessories: Circle Scissor Plus, 1 3/8" Square Punch, 1 1/4" Square Punch, Dimensionals

I paper pierced the robot with some of the DP and then coloured him with my Stampin' Write markers. He is very cute I think.

Hope you have a stamping day,

Bec

Mad May

Sorry I know, I know have been missing in action. I have been doing heaps of stamping though just haven't got around to blogging about it. Have found myself super tired in this last month of pregnancy and when I would normally be creative at night am tucked up in bed instead! Good news though this baby is coming out on Monday! Can't wait am super excited but nervous all the same.

May is a nutso month for us with heaps of birthdays and mothers day. Here are a couple of cards I have made recently. The first one was for a little friend's 6th birthday and I used the colour combo from Curtain Call 27 over on Stacey's Stamping Stage. I am super late to link to the challenge but still.

I have been using my new big shot and the Top Note die like a woman possessed and now I have all these "frames" left over which I thought was a shame to just toss out. I think this frames a picture nicely although there is probably a bit too much white in this one for my liking. I also wanted to highlight the set "A Little Treat" and how it can be used without the sweet treat cups as well. I also cased the star from the amazing Teneale Williams. Here is what I have used:

Stamps: A Little Treat, Stem Sayings

Paper: Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette

Ink: Melon Mambo

Accessories: Big Shot, Top Note Die, Large Star Punch, 1" Circle Punch, 1 3/8 " Circle Punch, Sizzix Stencil Alphabet Sizzlits, Dimensionals

The next card was for our big girl (Alex is really our niece but came to live with us at the tender age of 2 when her mum passed away) who turned 17 on the 1st May! I used the same colour combo and the Just Add Ink #15 challenge.

I once again used the amazing Teneale for inspiration for the bow. She has an awesome video tutorial on her blog to show you how to do these. I didn't have any string handy though so mine is a little bulky but not bad for a first go. Here is what I used:

Stamps: Good Friend, Picture This (new hostess level I set)

Paper: Certainly Celery, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Melon Mambo

Ink: Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, Soft Suede

Accessories: SAMJ, Silver brad, Certainly Celery Ribbon, Dimensionals

Well thanks for dropping by - can't promise another post real soon have heaps to do before bubs arrival and I guess it depends on how well behaved it is as to how much blogging I get to do! Happy mothers day if I don't post before hand.
