October Monthly Challenge

I've started a new monthly challenge on my Facebook page to get us all crafting a little bit more!  I find a sketch gives me a great starting point when thinking about creating a card.  Here is the sketch:

A super easy sketch to kick us off.  I'd love for anyone to join in.  You can upload your creations to my Facebook page here in the October Sketch Challenge Album (prizes for Australian residents only).

I've used that gorgeous DSP from the Trimming the Town Suite.  I love that the dies match the DSP so you can cut it all out easily!

Here is what I have used:
Stamps: Peace & Joy
Ink: Old Olive
Card/Paper: Snowflake Splendor DSP, Whisper White
Tools: Home Together Dies
Embellishments: All The Trimmings Embellishments

I hope you can play along and happy crafting!

When Did Christmas Get Here?

Well I am shocked to realise it is only 2 weeks until Christmas and I am so not ready. As I said earlier my mojo has completely deserted me. Here is something I have made that I was happy with and didn't end up in the bin like everything else!
I'm sure I used a sketch challenge for the card but sorry have no idea which one! Here are close ups of each and what I used.

Materials used:

Stamps: Welcome Christmas, Tiny Tags

Paper: Real Red, Soft Suede, Whisper White, Retired SU DSP

Ink: Versamark, Soft Suede

Accessories: Elegant Lines EF, Big Shot, Rhinestones, Retired SU Ribbon, Scallop Circle Punch, Red EP, Medium Jewellry Tag Punch, Dimensionals, Merry Details Sizzlit Die, Rhinestone Brad, X-Lg Round Tab Punch, Scallop Edge Border Punch, Sticky Strip

Thanks for stopping by,

It's A Coming!

I have all of a sudden started to panic as Christmas is just around the corner. My kids are madly making lists and pouring over the tonnes of junk mail (literally) that is arriving in our letter box each day. As usual I have not made any Christmas cards so need to get my butt into gear. Am seriously lacking inspiration at the moment. I have all of these gorgeous new products to play with but at the end of the day I am so exhausted dealing with a very grump 6 month old and mischevous 3 year old and not to mention the "I fast becoming a moody teenager" 11 year old that I just can't get motivated to do anything. Hopefully that changes fast. Here is a card we made for the new catalogue launch which is using one of my favourite sets.
Here is what I have used:
Stamps: Contempo Christmas
Paper: Garden Green, Real Red, Whisper White
Ink: Real Red
Accessories: Scallop Trim Border Punch, Ornament Extra-Large Punch, Silver Brads, Whisper White Ribbon, Dimensionals, Two-Way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds
When the girls were making this at the launch a very clever bunny decided that stamping the sentiment in Craft White and putting Dazzling Diamonds over the top was much more effective and I have to agree. That is why I love getting together with like minded stampers as great ideas always come out.
Stay tuned for some more christmas cards (hopefully) and don't forget the Christmas promo currently running.

Last Lot of Christmas Cards

Ok I promise after this post you can forget about Christmas! These are the last few I haven't got around to uploading. This was for CC246 over on Splitcoasters which was to use Pretty in Pink, Old Olive and Bermuda Bay (I used Taken with Teal as Bermuda Bay is an American In-Colour). Wasn't sure about doing a Christmas Card in these colours but I like how it turned out. Here is what I used:

Stamps: Scribble This, Tree Trimmings (retired), Short & Sweet

Paper: Whisper White, Pretty In Pink, Taken With Teal, Tea Party DSP

Ink: Taken With Teal, Old Olive, Versamark

Accessories: Clear Embossing Powder, Dimensionals, Non-SU Ribbon and Brads

This one was a sketch challenged over on the Our Creative Corner blog. Decided to go all monochromatic for this one. Here is what I used:

Stamps: Tree Trimmings (retired), Best Yet

Paper: Whisper White, Rose Red

Ink: Rose Red
Accessories: 1" Double Stitched Grosgrain Rose Red Ribbon, Paper Piercer & Template
I used the card sketch for SC256 over on Splitcoasters for this one. My hubby brought home from work this cool plastic beady things which I thought looked like snow - the hard bit was making them stick! I ended up using spray on adhesive. Here is what I used:

Stamps: Basic Phrases, Window Dressing

Paper: Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Ski Slope DSP (retired)

Ink: Staz-On Black, Baja Breeze

Accessories: 1 3/8: Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Rhinestone Brad, Dimensionals: Non-SU "snow pellets" and ribbon

This was another take on the previous card but without the frustrating snow! I used all the same stuff except I embossed the swirly panel with the cuttlebug.

Thanks for dropping by - Christmas is now officially over!
