Robots!

My 3 year old Oscar is obsessed with robots so when I saw this paper I bought it with him in mind. The Cinema Saturday Challenge #96 this week was the movie Ironman. I think this movie although being an action flick is a little bit of a love story as well. It was that which inspired this card. The requirement was also to use metal which is my silver card which has a metallic finish. I also used this weeks sketch on Mojo Monday #157.

Stamps: For You Flower
Paper: Basic Black, Baja Breeze, More Mustard, Whisper White, Metallic Silver, Kaisercraft K-Bots DP
Ink: Ruby Red (retired)

Mad May

Sorry I know, I know have been missing in action. I have been doing heaps of stamping though just haven't got around to blogging about it. Have found myself super tired in this last month of pregnancy and when I would normally be creative at night am tucked up in bed instead! Good news though this baby is coming out on Monday! Can't wait am super excited but nervous all the same.

May is a nutso month for us with heaps of birthdays and mothers day. Here are a couple of cards I have made recently. The first one was for a little friend's 6th birthday and I used the colour combo from Curtain Call 27 over on Stacey's Stamping Stage. I am super late to link to the challenge but still.

I have been using my new big shot and the Top Note die like a woman possessed and now I have all these "frames" left over which I thought was a shame to just toss out. I think this frames a picture nicely although there is probably a bit too much white in this one for my liking. I also wanted to highlight the set "A Little Treat" and how it can be used without the sweet treat cups as well. I also cased the star from the amazing Teneale Williams. Here is what I have used:

Stamps: A Little Treat, Stem Sayings

Paper: Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette

Ink: Melon Mambo

Accessories: Big Shot, Top Note Die, Large Star Punch, 1" Circle Punch, 1 3/8 " Circle Punch, Sizzix Stencil Alphabet Sizzlits, Dimensionals

The next card was for our big girl (Alex is really our niece but came to live with us at the tender age of 2 when her mum passed away) who turned 17 on the 1st May! I used the same colour combo and the Just Add Ink #15 challenge.

I once again used the amazing Teneale for inspiration for the bow. She has an awesome video tutorial on her blog to show you how to do these. I didn't have any string handy though so mine is a little bulky but not bad for a first go. Here is what I used:

Stamps: Good Friend, Picture This (new hostess level I set)

Paper: Certainly Celery, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Melon Mambo

Ink: Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, Soft Suede

Accessories: SAMJ, Silver brad, Certainly Celery Ribbon, Dimensionals

Well thanks for dropping by - can't promise another post real soon have heaps to do before bubs arrival and I guess it depends on how well behaved it is as to how much blogging I get to do! Happy mothers day if I don't post before hand.

Having a Blast with Challenges

Got even more stamping done yesterday than I thought possible. It was great! For this one I combined two challenges - SSSC56 over on Karen Giron's blog and Inkspirations #18 Colour Challenge on Makeesha Byl's blog.

Apologies for the photo it turned out a bit blah. Here is what I used:

Stamps: Pun Fun

Paper: Very Vanilla, Ruby Red, Brocade Blue and Brocade Blue DSP from Hostess Patterns Pack II

Ink: Stazon Black, Ruby Red, Mellow Moss, Brocade Blue

Accessories: Dimensionals, Ruby Red Brad, Circle Scissors Plus

For the colour challenge I was struggling to incorporate Mellow Moss but I think you can just see a hint of it on the rocket.

Have a great day - sun is shining :)

Last Lot of Christmas Cards

Ok I promise after this post you can forget about Christmas! These are the last few I haven't got around to uploading. This was for CC246 over on Splitcoasters which was to use Pretty in Pink, Old Olive and Bermuda Bay (I used Taken with Teal as Bermuda Bay is an American In-Colour). Wasn't sure about doing a Christmas Card in these colours but I like how it turned out. Here is what I used:

Stamps: Scribble This, Tree Trimmings (retired), Short & Sweet

Paper: Whisper White, Pretty In Pink, Taken With Teal, Tea Party DSP

Ink: Taken With Teal, Old Olive, Versamark

This one was a sketch challenged over on the Our Creative Corner blog. Decided to go all monochromatic for this one. Here is what I used:

Stamps: Tree Trimmings (retired), Best Yet

Paper: Whisper White, Rose Red

Ink: Rose Red
Accessories: 1" Double Stitched Grosgrain Rose Red Ribbon, Paper Piercer & Template
I used the card sketch for SC256 over on Splitcoasters for this one. My hubby brought home from work this cool plastic beady things which I thought looked like snow - the hard bit was making them stick! I ended up using spray on adhesive. Here is what I used:

Stamps: Basic Phrases, Window Dressing

Paper: Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Ski Slope DSP (retired)

Ink: Staz-On Black, Baja Breeze

Accessories: 1 3/8: Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Rhinestone Brad, Dimensionals: Non-SU "snow pellets" and ribbon

This was another take on the previous card but without the frustrating snow! I used all the same stuff except I embossed the swirly panel with the cuttlebug.

Thanks for dropping by - Christmas is now officially over!
