Christmas is Coming and Some Super Specials!

I can't believe Christmas is next week. I am madly trying to get everything done but so far am not getting very far. Some nasty migraines have been keeping me down and kept me behind schedule. Here is a Christmas Card that I did a while ago. This was for IC204 on Splitcoasters.

Here is what I used:
Stamps: Solemn Stillness (retired), Season of Joy
Paper: Whisper White, DSP from Winter Bright SSK (retired)
Ink: Ruby Red, Wild Wasabi (retired)
Accessories: Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamons, Dimensionals, Wild Wasabi Striped Grosgrain Ribbon (retired)
I stamped all the poinsettia flowers and cut them out to make the wreath popping some of them up on Dimensionals to make them pop. I put some Crystal Effects with Dazzling Diamonds in the centers for a bit of extra sparkle.

Some exciting news for you today as well. Stampin' Up! Australia are having an Inventory Sale. You can get selected stamp sets and accessories well below cost until 24th January while stocks last. I know there are a few things I will be getting. You can click here to see the complete list.

Hope you are all nearly ready for Christmas and happy stamping!

Happy Birthday Baby!

Well yesterday was my hubby's birthday and we had a lovely day out to lunch with the family. I got him a new golf club that he has lusted after for a while - it was so funny to see his face, I think I actually surprised him for once. I don't think he has put it down since - even taking it to work today to show the "boys". I honestly expected to wake up with it in bed with us! This is a card I made for my nan to give to him.

This was for CAS39 on Splitcoasters which was a sketch challenge. Here is what I used:

Stamps: Lovely As A Tree, Short & Sweet

Paper: Chocolate Chip, Really Rust, Very Vanilla, Unknown DP

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Really Rust, Garden Green

Accessories: Nestabilities & CB, Twine, Large Oval Punch

I coloured the tree with markers in the different colours to give it a variegated look and used twin to make it manly as ribbon just doesn't cut it!

Must get on and make some Christmas cards now - haven't event started! Can't believe how quick time has gone - even harder to believe that I am 16 weeks pregnant today and have started to feel the baby wiggle about. Makes is seem a bit more real!

Happy stamping

Great Friend

This card was made a while ago for my good friend Tracey for her birthday. I think I probably cased this idea but can't remember where from. This is the most gorgeous set - very feminine.

Stamps: Great Friend

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss

Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds, Crystal Effects, Rhinestone Brad, Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon, Circle Punches, Eyelet Border Punch, Paper Piercer & Template, Dimensionals

Well its the last few days of the Spring Mini Catalogue so if you really have your heart set on something get in now! I made this card for FS142 on Splitcoasters. This is the card I chose to case. Slack Blogger!

I just realised it is nearly a month since I last blogged! Forgive me. Things have been pretty hectic and to tell the truth I have lost my creative mojo recently - must be all the pregnancy hormones. I got back into the swing of things on Sunday churning out a huge amount of chrissy cards for some girls at work. I keep selling them all though so I hope no-one expects a card from me! Here is a card I did a while ago for CAS33 on Splitcoasters. Apologies for the photo quality - a new camera is on my Christmas list.

Here is what I used:
Stamps: Basic Phrases, Live Like You Mean It (Hostess)
Paper: Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White
Ink: Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss
Accessories: Hemp Twin, Linen Thread, Button Bouquet (Kiwi Kiss), Dimensionals
I love the simplicity of clean and simple cards (CAS) sometime less is more. Well thats all from me today - promise to keep up with the blogging. There are some great new products coming in the new Summer Mini Catalogue from 1st December so watch this space!

Big News!

Well I have been very lax in posting lately and for that I apologise but I have a good reason! We are expecting baby number 3! Unfortunately I am feeling very poorly so my poor stamping room has been rather unused! We are very excited so in honour here is another baby card that I made ages ago that I didn't get around to posting.

Notice this one is generic colours! Even though it is too early yet to tell we won't be finding out what sex the baby is - a surprise is always nice. Here is what I used:

Stamps: Short & Sweet
Paper: So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Tea Party DSP
Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: Scallop Circle Punch, Word Window Punch, Large Oval Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, Wide Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, So Saffron Ribbon, Non SU Googly Eyes and Puff Paint.
I went to Melbourne Regionals this weekend with my sister-in-law. We decided to drive over and visit and I got to go with someone I knew! It was great and we got some cool sneak peeks and new stuff coming up in the Summer Mini. You will love it!
Take care,
Rebecca

Paper: Elegant Eggplant, Summer Sun, Basic Black, Watercolour Paper

Ink: Staz-On Black, Elegant Eggplant, Summer Sun

I watercoloured the flowers with markers and blender pen then cut one out and popped it up on dimensionals.

Where Is Summer?

I had a request to make a beach wedding card so I decided to make a shaker card. Here is what I used:
Stamps: A Happy Heart, Scribble This
Paper: Whisper White, Kraft, Baja Breeze
Ink: Baja Breeze, Staz-On White
Accessories: Coluzzle with oval template, acetate, sand, ribbon, sea charms, rub-on, martha stewart crystal bling
Hopefully making a summery type card will inspire the season to make an appearance. It has been the worst weather here over the last few days with the sun only deciding to poke its head out late today. We all have colds again - go away winter!

Father's Day

Well downunder Father's Day is next Sunday so here is one that was inspired by this card. Something different. Had to make my own template for the pocket as this set is an old SU retired one that I don't have.

Here is what I used:

Stamps: Wonderful Favourites

Paper: Whisper White, Brocade Blue, Real Red, Basic Black

Ink: Basic Black, Real Red, Brocade Blue

Accessories: Silver Brads, Word Window Punch, Sponge, Basic Black Marker

I sponged the Brocade Blue cardstock in the same ink all over including the pocket and belt loops. For the belt I crumpled the cardstock to give it kinda leather look. You could put anything in the pocket but decided a hankerchief looked ok.

Thanks for stopping by.

Teacher Thankyou's

Last night my daughter took part in J Rock (a dance competition for primary schools). They did so well I was very proud. She wanted some thankyou cards for the teachers who put in so much time and effort to organise their performance. I was inspired by this card by cmc2stamps over on splitcoasters and just flipped one around to make them slightly different.

Here is what I used:

Stamps: Tart & Tangy, Sweet Little Sentiments (Hostess)

Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, Old Olive, Summer Picnic DSP (retired)

Ink: Real Red, Old Olive

Accessories: Old Olive & Real Red Ribbon, Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Paper Piercer, Dimensionals

Gotta love the apple in this set for those school related things. I also took Mr Terrible Two to watch Playschool Live on Stage yesterday as well. He had an absolute ball and did all the dances and everything. I got a real buzz out of watching him although I don't think it should be legal to have that many toddlers in the same room at once!

Have a great day,

Bec

A little Aussie Season Midnight Madness!

This is my first go at a midnight madness sketch over on priscillastyles blog. I have started to think I am running out of time for Christmas cards so used this sketch to make one. I love all the traditional Christmas colours and cards out there but I also think sometimes we need a little bit of Aussie. We don't have snow or but definitely have lots of heat and sun. I think these colours reflect Australia for Christmas, all nice and earthy and natural, and I think this one will go OS this year.

Here is what I used:

Stamps: Season of Joy, Punches Three (Hostess Set)

Paper: Very Vanilla, Sahara Sand, Always Artichoke, Holiday Harmony DSP (retired)

Ink: Always Artichoke, Purely Pomegranate (retired)

Accessories: Linen Thread, Ric-rac, Circle Punch, Star Brad, Dimensionals

The sentiment I cut out from the stamp from Punches Three set - I cased this idea from the very clever Claire Daly check out her amazing blog for other great projects.

Thanks for stopping by I had fun making this today (can you hear that? - its the lovely sounds of a 2 year old sleeping - I can play!)

Sunday Blues

It was such a beautiful day today that I didn't do any stamping :(, but on the plus side I got all my washing done and soaked up some vitamin D! It seems like it has been forever since the sun shined. I think because my in-laws are basking by the pool in Phuket it makes it that much worse when it rains here - I wanna be by the pool too! Anyway here is a card from the archives.

This one was from way back and was for SC231. Here is what I used:

Stamps: Pun Fun

Paper: Whisper White, Ruby Red, Unknown DP from my stash

Ink: Staz-On Black

Accessories: Markers, Blender Pen, Dimensionals

I have hooked up to another great blog - McMahon Five Designs - Sue is giving away some fab blog candy too so check our her blog before the 15th August to enter! Also visit her store for some great digi designs by clicking on the store button at the bottom.

More Sneak Peeking

I have another sneak peek for you this morning. This is again the Forest Friends set. I had some left over layouts cut out from a make and take from a workshop so decided to use them up by playing with some new stuff. This was also for SC237.

Here is what I used:

Stamps: Forest Friends (new), Great Friend (for the sentiment, new)

Paper: Old Olive, So Saffron, Whisper White, Haiku DSP

Ink: Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Close To Cocoa

Accessories: So Saffron Brads, Small, Large, Scalloped Oval (new) Punches, Paper Piercer & Template, Dimensionals, Stampin' pastels, Old Olive Ribbon

I used the rock & roll technique on the tree - by inking first in Old Olive and then rolled the edges in Chocolate Chip. It is such an easy technique but so effective. I used my paper piercer and template to pierce holes around the main image and cut out the bunny and popped him up on a dimensional. Don't you just love the new scallop oval punch?

Thanks for dropping by.

Finally Friday

You know those weeks you wish didn't happen? That's what I have had - can't put my finger on it but just felt blah and didn't have any creative juice whatsoever. Anywho I have a workshop tonight and these are two cards I did for a make and take. I used SC237 for the layout. This one was extremely easy for those less confident.

And I just stepped this one up a bit by using markers on the stamp for two different colours.

Paper: So Saffron, Old Olive, Whisper White, Haiku DSP

Ink: Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie

Stamps: Cheers To You

Paper: Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Holiday Treasures DSP

We did this one for a class but we used More Mustard marker on the beer steins then as is looked more like beer and cut out the handle (I was a bit lazy).

Some more class cards:

This was for SC234 as well over on splitcoasters. Here is what I used:

Stamps: Pun Fun

Paper: Tangerine Tango, Pacific Point, Whisper White

Ink: Basic Black

Ink: Old Olive, Ruby Red, Chocolate Chip

Accessories: Scallop Circle Punch, Oval Punch, Paper Piercer & Template, Dazzling Diamonds, Packing Tape, Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon

Technique: It doesn't show real well in the photo but the image is behind a glitter window of Dazzling Diamonds - this is a super easy technique and you can find a great tutorial over on splitcoasters on the resources page.

Stamps: Best Yet

Paper: Baja Breeze, Ruby Red, Vellum, Holiday Treasures DSP

Ink: Chocolate Chip

Accessories: Cuttlebug & Swiss Dots Folder, Brad, Punches, Chocolate Chip Ribbon, Dimensionals

June Madness

Sorry this week has been manic with Laurel's 10th birthday and her party coming up tomorrow. Right now I am in the middle of making 24 treat boxes for her guests and trying to do food, decorations and entertainment. The theme is rockstar and all her guests got a VIP backstage pass lanyard for invitations. I will try and post some of the things I made later this week. Here is a card from the archives.

Mum needed a 60th birthday card for a friend. I used CC221 and SC231 over on splitcoasters to inspire me. Here is what I used:

Stamps: Oh, So Lovely (Retired), Generic numbers

Paper: Very Vanilla, Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss

Ink: Tangerine Tango

Accessories: Punches, Blender Pen, Ribbon

Enjoy and hope you are having a great week.

Happy Stamping, Bec
