Tis The Season!

I've been sucked down the rabbit hole and haven't posted for way too long!  Things are crazy busy here and I've just taken on another job so I'm not quite sure when I will get time to be creative going forward.  With that happening I decided today just to make something fun.  This is for my nieces that I have bought zoo memberships for Christmas so thought this was appropriate.

I went with a slimline card to fit a few animals on.

Of course being in Australia we needed a koala.

Here is what I used.

Stamps:  Menagerie Mix Up, Curvy Christmas, Gnome for the Holidays

Ink:  Old Olive, Garden Green, Memento Black, So Saffron

Card/Paper: Real Red, Whisper White

Tools: Stampin Blends, Menagerie Dies, Wink of Stella

I loved just colouring and creating a scene, I spent way too long on this but loved every minute!

I sure hope they love it.

Card/Paper: Real Red, Whisper White, 'Tis The Season DSP

Tools:  Pine Tree Punch

Embellishments:  Real Red Braided Linen Trim, Real Red Sheer Ribbon, All The Trimmings Embellishments

🎄

Card Recipe:

Real Red Cardstock: 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"

DSP: 5 1/4" x 4"

Whisper White: 8 1/2" x 2 1/2" (folded in half)

Cute Little Ornaments

Something a little bit different from me today.  I got these blank wood rounds last year with the thinking of making some Christmas decorations with them but it didn't happen, so this year I'm making it happen!

This little cutie is from the Flight of Fancy Set.

These guys are all from the Gnome For The Holidays Set.

Of Course they all needed a bit of bling with some Wink of Stella!

I think this one is my favourite he reminds me more a wizard than a gnome!

Here is what I have used:

Stamps: Gnome For The Holidays, Flight of Fancy, Peace & Joy
Ink: Staz-On Black, Old Olive, Flirty Flamingo
Card/Paper: Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Tools: Stampin' Blends

Poinsettia Place Gift Giving

There is nothing like giving gifts that are beautifully packaged.  I love to make coordinating gift and card sets for my loved ones.  These great Rectangle Tins (#153519) make gift giving a breeze.

Here is what I have used:

Stamps:  Warm Hugs, Poinsettia Petals

Ink:  Real Red, Old Olive, Soft Suede

Card/Paper:  Whisper White, Poinsettia Place DSP, Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper

Joy To The World Paper Pumpkin Kit

I just adore the new Paper Pumpkin kit, Joy To The World.  I featured this alternative to the suggested cards on my Facebook Live today.  I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest by Karen Aicken for an alternative fold but then changed the features.

By simply scoring one of the base cards it creates a fun different fold for your card.

I have used a Blender Pen and some ink to colour in the flower on the inside of the card to add some more interest.

Everything I have used is included in the Joy to the World Paper Pumpkin Kit except for an extra piece of Whisper White Card for the inside of the card and some gold sequins from my stash.

These kits are so awesome to take with you anywhere you go or a great gift idea for the crafter in your life.  Suitable for beginners but as you can see easy to step up the designs and make them your own!

Happy crafting,

A lovely addition to your festive table or Christmas decorations around the home.

Tulips Are My Favourite

Tulips are my absolute favourite flowers so when I saw this card in the Memories & More pack I knew I would be using it.

I actually used the two cards and fussy cut out some of the tulips on the second one to add some dimension to this card.  I really love how it turned out.

Here is what I used:

Stamps: Boho Indigo

Ink: Just Jade

Card/Paper: Flowers For Every Season Memories & More/Cards & Envelopes

Embellishments:  Flowers For Every Season Ribbon, Flowers For Every Season Gems

While still a simple card the extra pop with the fussy cut tulips popped up on Dimensionals gives it a little bit more.

I hope you are having a crafty day, thanks for popping by,

Memories & More

I love the Memories & More card packs by Stampin' Up! as they make card making even easier.  As well as using them in my pocket scrapbooking.  They are a really easy option for making some quick and simple cards.  I sat down and made 10 cards in an afternoon.  Here is one that I made.

Here is what I have used:

Card/Paper:  Flowers For Every Season Memories & More Cards & Envelopes,

Flowers For Every Season Memories & More Card Pack

Embellishments:  Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack, Pearl Basic Jewels

No stamping!  The words are stickers that come in the Memories & More pack.  Not my usual colour scheme but I am quite loving it!

You would get a massive amount of cards out of one of these packs and you just need to add card bases and a few embellishments here and there.  You can add in any stamps you already have as well.  For just $19.25 you get 50 double sided cards and 4 sticker sheets, which is amazing value.

I hope you are having a crafty day,

Cute Christmas Gift Box

I've made these cute little gift boxes to coordinate my Christmas gift giving.  I love that this is so easy to do with Stampin' Up! with all the products that match together.  I have done a video tutorial on these which you can see here.

You get two boxes out of one 12 x 12" sheet of DSP, which I know we all have plenty of!  With DSP being 15% off this month as well its a great time to try some of these.

Here is what I have used:
Stamps: Warm Hugs, Wrapped In Christmas
Ink: Real Red, Pear Pizzaz
Card/Paper: Heartwarming Hugs DSP, Whisper White, Real Red, Pear Pizzazz
Tools: Simply Scored Board, Warm Wraps Dies, Story Label Punch, 1 1/2" Circle Punch
Embellishments: All the Trimmings Ribbon Combo Pack, Glitter Star Ornaments, Cello bag tied with Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Park.

Again here is the video to watch how to create this box and these are the measurements:
Side one score at 1", 4 3/4", 7", 10 3/4"
Side two score at 4", 5 3/4", 9 3/4", 11 1/2"

This is one more I created out of some retired DSP and popped a hair pamper pack inside.  Really simple and effective way to package your gifts for any occasion and then you can coordinate them with your card!

Happy crafting,

Happy Birthday Poppy!

Today another of my little grand-daughters turns 5! Wow time flies.  They only live 10 minutes down the road from us but of course we can't see them.  We did a FaceTime cake with her, just not quite the same!  Here is the card I made for her to go with her light up glow in the dark scooter!

Here is what I used:

Stamps: Hippo Happiness, Moving Along (sentiment)

Ink: Highland Heather, Melon Mambo

Card/Paper: Whisper White, scraps of retired DSP

Tools: Playful Alphabet Dies, Foam Adhesive Sheets

Embellishments: Rhinestones

I initially grabbed the Hippo Happiness set out to use the unicorn but changed my mind and decided to go with the butterfly.  I didn't realise but she had a unicorn cake!  All well.

I hope you are staying safe and well,

Card/Paper: Snowflake Splendor DSP, Whisper White

Just Because They Are Cute!

I had some scraps on my desk from the earlier scrap using session and wanted to use the guys on a card for no particular reason!  I came up with this because when things are going badly we could all use a smile!

Here is what I have used:

Stamps:  Back on Your Feet, Box of Sunshine (sentiment)

Ink: Memento Black, Versamark

Card/Paper: Whisper White, scraps of DSP

Tools: Black Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Stampin' Blends.

Embellishments: Playing with Patterns Resin Dots

The film strip and camera were cut out of the DSP scraps I had.  The sentiment is embossed with black embossing powder.

I love to sit and colour so these were fun to do and so relaxing.

So I hope you are smiling today!

Using Those Scraps!

I've made a series of cards from a few bits of retired DSP that I had hanging around.  This paper is a few years old but I've held onto the bits as I loved it.  I hate to waste my scraps so here are a few ideas on how you can make the most of your DSP and get more bang for your buck!

Firstly use your dies and punches.  For these three cards I've used by Stitched Triangle Dies which are quickly becoming firm favourites!  Super simple to come up with these quick cards.  Add a sentiment and some bling and your done.

This one was using some strips I had left over and was for the sketch over at Fusion Card Challenge.  Super quick and easy again and the sentiment makes the card.

Those tiny strips that you have left over always make good flag end strips.  Here I just used a combination of coordinating DSP pieces.

My favourite thing to do with my DSP is fussy cut out designs that are included on alot of them.  This one featured cameras and camera related things.  I made a frame using my square dies to look like a polaroid type deal.  Add some more flag strips from scraps a sentiment and bling and hey presto you are done.

This one again using all scraps including the cardstock frame cut with stitched rectangles.  All those pieces were fussy cut (lucky I love fussy cutting).  Some circle punches and layering with dimensionals to add some pop and you are done.

Apart from my Whisper White card bases these were all made from scraps of DSP and cardstock.  Lets be honest we all have a heap of those lying about!

I hope this has inspired you to use up your scraps and make the most of your DSP. Its all too pretty to waste.

Happy crafting,

Bec x
